Three local teams participate in Red Zone Games at Mercedes Benz Stadium

On December 18, three flag football teams in the Coweta County Recreation League were invited to play in the Red Zone Games at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. 

The Steelers, led by Head Coach Ron Troxler; the Falcons, led by Head Coach Michael Leech; and the Vikings, led by Head Coach Joey Johnson, all got to play exhibition games on the field that is home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United.

Rec flag and tackle teams from across the state and south participated in the day-long event, which in addition to the exhibition games, included guided tours of the Falcons and United locker room and other behind-the-scenes areas of the NFL stadium.

The Steelers team includes coaches Troxler and Dion Meredith and players Caleb Mickle, Alejandro Santiago, Emery Bowlden, Jayce Garrett, Dominic Meredith, Colt Troxler, Dash Meredith, Landon Schwartz and Ronan Holselback.  

The Falcons team includes coaches Leech and Adam Mundt and players William Griffin, Davis Mundt, Carter Bailey, Harris Hines, Hunt Fulwiler, KJ Johnson, Willie Leech, Will Jones and Cooper Morrison.

The Vikings team includes coaches Joey Johnson, Tray Baggarly, Andre Mitchell and East Coweta football student athletes Cooper Johnson and Ryan Story and players Kentavious Maiden, Brady Leedy, JJ Vargas, Joshua Mitchell, Harrison Baggarly, Kaiden Minnick, Tripp Johnson and Mason Switzer.

Red Zone Games is a Youth Football Event where Rec-Level/Small Town football and cheer teams ages 6-12 from around the country play in NFL Stadiums.
