From Salvation Army of Newnan Press Release

With only a few days left before Christmas, The Salvation Army in Newnan is falling behind its red kettle goal for 2025.

The annual Red Kettle Campaign is The Salvation Army’s primary fundraiser of the year, with every dollar donated supporting programs that make a difference in the lives of people year-round in Newnan.

“The 2025 bell-ringing season has faced unique challenges as our community continues to recover from economic impacts,” said Heather Durham of The Salvation Army. “As we move forward, we are seeing an increased need from those affected by increased pricing of rent and groceries as well as the effects of disasters and job losses. Currently, the Red Kettle Campaign is falling significantly short of our goal of $75,000 We have raised $56,912 so far and are praying the community will dig deep in the remaining days of the season to ensure we can continue to provide essential assistance to those in need.”

The Salvation Army bells will continue to ring outside stores through Christmas Eve, and the organization remains hopeful that, with the community’s support, it can still reach its fundraising goal.

“The generosity of our amazing community is always a blessing to witness firsthand. The Salvation Army is incredibly grateful, and we want everyone to know that every dollar helps!” said Heather. “The money raised in our Red Kettle Campaign stays right here in Newnan allowing us to serve meals to those who are hungry, help families struggling to pay utility bills, and provide pathways to self-sufficiency for families in our community for months to come.”

Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Red Kettle Campaign. It’s not too late—individuals, families, groups, and businesses can easily sign up as volunteer bell ringers. To volunteer, go to www.RegisterToRing.com and select the location, day, and time you wish to ring.
