City Council Participates in Strategic Retreat

The Newnan City Council recently concluded a productive two-day retreat, focused on strengthening communications, identifying priorities, and looking for ways to advance the City of Newnan.
At the retreat, the City Council engaged in structured discussions and work sessions designed to align the group around the City’s mission and long-term priorities.
Mayor Shepherd said, “This was a productive two days of us coming together as a City Council to identify how we can continue to collaborate and lead with transparency. Identifying our strategic priorities with clarity and purpose will help us as we model the professional and respectful leadership Newnan is known for.”
Included in the retreat was the importance of establishing a growth management plan for annexation, future training for Council Members, and ideas for reviewing the code of ordinances.
The retreat was grounded in the City of Newnan’s mission: “To provide cost-effective programs and services while continuously focusing on preserving and enhancing the quality of life that is enjoyed by all Newnan citizens.” ###
