Statement On Porchfest Postponement

Dear Newnan Porchfest Musicians, Vendors, Neighbors, Porch Hosts, Sponsors, Volunteers, and Community Partners,

We are writing to share a difficult but necessary update: Newnan Porchfest is being postponed due to the threat of severe weather

Newnan Porchfest is a rain-or-shine event when we are dealing with rain or scattered showers. However, the current forecast for Saturday is showing thunderstorms and the potential for serious weather. After careful consideration, and with the safety of our guests, musicians, vendors, neighbors, porch hosts, volunteers, staff, and community partners in mind, we have made the decision to postpone the event.

This is not a decision we take lightly. Our organizing team has poured thousands of hours into planning this year’s festival, and we know that so many of you have invested your time, energy, resources, and excitement into making this day possible. We also understand the impact this has on your schedules, preparations, travel plans, inventory, staffing, and expectations.

At this time, we do not have a confirmed rain date. We are actively working through the logistics of rescheduling and will communicate updates as soon as we have clear information to share.

Our goal has always been to create a safe, joyful, and meaningful community event where people can gather in the streets, enjoy live music, support local artists and vendors, celebrate our historic neighborhood, and experience the very best of Newnan. With the possibility of thunderstorms and severe weather, we do not feel that Saturday will allow us to safely deliver the event our community deserves.

We know this news is disappointing. It is devastating for our team as well. But above all else, we must prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
