Through Caring Customers, Newnan Utilities customers help local nonprofits meet needs
across Coweta County. The program has awarded $5,000 in its latest round of grants to three organizations serving children and families.

The Caring Customers advisory committee awarded the following grants:
Coweta CASA — $2,000
This grant will provide gas cards through CASA’s Drive to Serve program, helping volunteers travel to visit children in foster care and advocate for them in court.
Coweta Ferst Readers — $1,000
This grant will help provide free, age-appropriate books to Coweta children from birth through age five, building early reading skills and helping prepare them for school.
Hope Revisited — $2,000
This grant will support visits, parenting classes and mentorship for families working to reunite with their children in foster care and stay together. “Coweta CASA is grateful for our continued partnership with the Newnan Utilities Foundation
through its Caring Customers program.

Many Coweta children in foster care are placed outside our area. This grant will help ease that travel barrier and move us closer to serving every child who needs us,” said Amanda Camp-Fenlon, executive director of Coweta CASA.

With these awards, Caring Customers has granted nearly $170,000 to local nonprofits since the program began. Newnan Utilities customers make these grants possible by donating $1 a month or rounding up their utility bills.
