Annual Christmas Bazaar to Raise Scholarship Funds for Future Educators

The Coweta Association of Retired Educators (CARE) will host their annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the First United Methodist Church Annex, located at 35 Greenville Street in downtown Newnan.

A wide assortment of donated items, including home baked goods, seasonal crafts, holiday décor, and“white elephant” pieces, will be available for purchase. Payments in cash and personal checks will beaccepted.

Proceeds will benefit the CARE scholarship fund as well as the local unit’s contributions to its parentorganization, Georgia Retired Educators Association (GREA).

This year CARE will award a $1,000 scholarship to three Coweta County School System seniors who plan to become teachers.

Applications for the 2025 scholarships are available in the guidance offices of East Coweta High School, Newnan High School, and Northgate High School. CARE member Nora Ann Wood chairs the scholarship program.

CARE member Karen Moseley chairs the annual Christmas Bazaar in coordination with CARE President Marie Estep. Other elected officers are Secretary Jean Cotton, Treasurer Pat Craven, Parliamentarian Jeanie Hill, and Immediate Past President Sherry Leigh Taylor.
