Coweta Association of Retired Educators Will Temporarily Meet at New Location

Coweta Association of Retired Educators (CARE) has temporarily changed locations for its monthly meetings. CARE’s first meeting of the year will be September 8 at Royal Baptist Church, 70 Mayo Royal Industrial Boulevard, in Newnan.
The organization usually meets in the Professional Learning Center at the Coweta County School System (CCSS) office complex on Werz Industrial Boulevard. The temporary change in venues will allow members an opportunity to practice social distancing.
Church safety protocols will be followed: Temperatures will be taken, participants will socially distance, and the wearing of masks will be optional. Bottled water will be provided instead of refreshments prepared by members.
Time for the September 8 meeting will change to 11:45 a.m. for members to meet and greet and pay dues, and the program will begin promptly at 12:00 noon.
Vicki Davis, Area 10 Director for Georgia Retired Educators Association, will install the Coweta Unit’s slate of officers for 2020-2021 and officially present the state awards CARE earned during 2019-2020.
CCSS Superintendent Evan Horton will be the guest speaker. This will be Horton’s first time giving the annual “State of the System” address to the group of former educators.
CARE invites all retirees from any educational setting, public or private, to visit and join the local and state associations.
