Annual Holiday Bazaar and Auction to Raise Scholarship Funds for Future Educators
Get in the holiday spirit by shopping for a good cause at Coweta Association of Retired Educators’ third annual Holiday Bazaar and Auction. CARE will host the scholarship fundraiser Tuesday, December 10, from 1 to 5 p.m., in the Coweta County School System’s office complex on Werz Boulevard in Newnan.
Members have donated a wide assortment of items, including baked goods, homemade candies, seasonal crafts and decorations, gift baskets, toys, sports paraphernalia, and “white elephant” pieces. Shoppers will also be able to purchase snacks and drinks to enjoy while they browse.
Proceeds will benefit the CARE Scholarship fund, which has traditionally awarded a scholarship to one CCSS high school senior planning to become a teacher. This year CARE has expanded the program and will present a scholarship at each of the system’s base high schools. Recipients will be announced at East Coweta, Newnan, and Northgate during each high school’s Senior Honors Night in the Spring.
Nora Ann Wood, Scholarship Chair, is working closely with guidance personnel at each high school to promote this enhanced opportunity for the students in Coweta County public schools.
