From CCF Press Release

As the holidays approach, many people make a point of giving to those less fortunate, not just their own family and friends. For those who want to give something good while actually doing good, the Coweta Community Foundation has lots of great ideas for ways to give back to the community this holiday season.

This summer, the Bonner family suffered the tragic loss of six family members, including children. Kayla and Oscar Bonner are now rebuilding their home, and while the community has come together to volunteer and support this effort, the project has incurred additional costs. You can make a gift to the Bonner Project and help the family rebuild. To donate, visit cowetafoundation.org and select the Bonner Project Fund with your gift.

With cold weather here, local citizens can make it a warmer holiday season for others by volunteering with or making a donation to the NEST, the Newnan Emergency Shelter Team, which provides temporary warming shelter for our homeless neighbors. A one-time gift or a recurring donation can be made at cowetafoundation.org. For those interested in a long-term solution to homelessness, Restart Coweta is an initiative aimed at ending homelessness in Coweta County through a coordinated, collaborative, and person-centered approach. These gifts can also be made at cowetafoundation.org.

And for those who would like to enjoy the sounds of the season while supporting a great cause, the Rockin’ Christmas Concert with Luis Alas and Friends is coming up on Saturday, December 21, at Wadsworth Auditorium in Newnan. In addition to Saxophonist Luis Alas, this amazing night of Christmas music will also feature special guests Elizabeth Harvey, Howard Bud Jones III, and others. Tickets start at just $35, with drinks and charcuterie boxes also available, and proceeds will go to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office fund and will benefit the courageous local first responders in their vital work. Tickets can be purchased at cowetafoundation.org by clicking on the “Donate” tab and selecting “Events/Tickets.”
