Citizen Academy Applications Now Open!
Join the city of Newnan for six FREE informational sessions to learn how the City of Newnan is run by each department head. The program will run between September and October. Applications must be received by Friday, June 26.

The Newnan Citizen Academy takes place over 6 Tuesday evenings:
- Tuesday, September 15, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St.)
- Tuesday, September 29, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (Fire Training Facility, 473 Greison Trail)
- Tuesday, October 6, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (Public Safety Complex, 1 Joseph Hannah Blvd.)
- Tuesday, October 13, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St. & Public Works, 57B Boone Dr.)
- Tuesday, October 20, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (Newnan Carnegie Library, 1 LaGrange St.)
- Tuesday, October 27, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St.)
By submitting this application you confirm your availability to participate in a minimum of five (5) of the six (6) dates. Please note: an absence from two (2) or more dates will result in not graduating from the Newnan Citizen Academy. The class has a limited number of participants and applying does not guarantee a place in the Academy. You will be contacted regarding your participation by Communications Manager, Aimee Hadden, by July 3, 2026.
Academy Requirements:
- Available to attend on the dates listed for the upcoming class.
- 18 years old or older.
- Resident, work, or own a business in the City of Newnan.
