Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. The Newnan Carnegie Library hosts another exciting free lunchtime program. Bring a lunch with you as we welcome Dr. Hendry Miller, the Collections Manager at the Georgia Archives. He will examine some of Georgia’s history with Native peoples—from the establishment of the Georgia Colony through the first few decades of the 1800s in a multimedia presentation. The Art Walk Event is Main Street Newnan’s celebration of local art, hosted twice a year in downtown Newnan! During the Art Walk, businesses extend their hours to host store-front exhibits and demonstrations curated by a variety of Newnan’s finest artists. Visitors can expect to stroll through over 25 locations and see the work of at least 40 artists, and you will find a wide variety of art styles and mediums, including: oil on canvas, engraving, pottery, photography, jewelry-making, fiber arts, performing arts and acrylics.
