The Contenders at The Nixon Centre
7 p.m. … Folkicana duo The Contenders released their debut full-length, Laughing With The Reckless on November 3rd via Rock Ridge Music. It’s the follow-up to their 2014 EP, Meet The Contenders, which explores the perseverance of hope in dark times along with the powerful way that music can connect us to others, the value of maintaining old friendships, and finding comfort in the arms of loved ones. The Mousetrap at Newnan Theatre Company

Dracula at Wadsworth Auditorium
Friday/Saturday at 7 p.m; Sunday at 3 p.m. … $30 adult; $15 children under 12 and seniors. Southern Arc Dance and Newnan Cultural Arts Commission is set to present “Dracula” for three dates at Wadsworth Auditorium in downtown Newnan. This presentation will be a professional dance/theater love story of all ages and will be perfect to get everyone into the mood for Halloween. Southern Arc Dance is asking those in attendance to come in costume. Live music will be by Doug Kees, voted Best Musician in Coweta County, who composed the rock music soundtrack for this performance. It will be performed by Newnan’s Musicology, with Bahar Gjuka singing some of her songs. Children’s Costume Contest and Craft
4 to 6 p.m. at the Newnan Carnegie Library. … Join them for an afternoon of ghoulish fun, if you dare. They will be having a Halloween costume contest, paper pumpkin decorating and a bat craft. Spooktacular Recruitment Event at WGTC
9 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. … West Georgia Tech is hosting a Spooktacular Recruitment event at all five campuses, including the Coweta County campus in Newnan.
