Coweta County Prep Football: 2025 Schedules revealed

With school officially getting started on Aug. 1, it also means the 2025 football season is just around the corner.
Six Coweta County teams can begin having practice in full pads on Monday, July 28. Jamborees and scrimmages against other schools will take place the first week in August, before the official start of the season arrives on Friday, Aug. 15.
All four Georgia High School Association (GHSA) schools here in Coweta – East Coweta, Newnan, Northgate and Trinity Christian – will play 10 regular-season games with each having a pair of open dates. East Coweta hosts Sandy Creek and Newnan welcomes Greater Atlanta Christian in their respective season-openers on Aug. 15 while Northgate travels to Starr’s Mill and Trinity Christian to Ola.
Heritage School, a member of the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA), opens the 2025 campaign that same evening at Towers High in Decatur. And Central Christian, a member of the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools (GAPPS), will play host to Hearts Academy to kick off its 2025, 9-man campaign as well that night.
Four of the six Coweta Schools made the state playoffs last season – East Coweta (4-7), Newnan (9-3), Trinity Christian (2-9) and Central Christian (3-7). Only Newnan won its first round playoff game before losing to Sprayberry in the second round. Heritage School (0-10) and Northgate (2-8) did not reach the state playoffs in their respective divisions.
Two new head coaches take to the sidelines this season here in Coweta. Jeff Schmidkofer takes over at Trinity Christian, replacing Kenny Dallas while Levi Dunn begins at Heritage School as Richard Moncrief left the program after one year.
