Regal’s 2018 Summer Movie Express
This summer, kids can enjoy some of their favorite movies on the big screen for only $1 through Regal Cinemas’ Summer Movie Express program. For nine weeks, starting May 29 and 30, kids can watch family-friendly films on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

AMC’s 2018 Classic Summer Movie Camp
For eight weeks starting on June 6, kids can attend AMC Theatres’ 2018 AMC Classic Summer Movie Camp and enjoy a movie and refreshments for only $4 plus tax. The AMC Classic Summer Movie Camp is every Wednesday at 10 a.m. In Newnan, AMC Classic Newnan 10 at 87 Newnan Station Drive is a participating theater.
Moviegoers will get a ticket to a family-friendly film and an AMC KidsPack, which includes popcorn, a fountain drink and fruit snacks. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to AMC Cares, which supports communities where AMC associates live and work.

Summer NewnaNights
From June to August, Main Street Newnan is hosting Summer NewnaNights, a monthly summer event series in downtown Newnan. The events will take place on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. in Greenville Street Park and will feature family-friendly music and entertainment, festivities and vendor booths. Summer NewnaNights will be held on June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9.
Lego Robotics and Battlebots Summer Camp
The Coweta STEM Institute is offering a Lego Robotics and Battlebots Summer Camp from June 25 to 28. The hands-on science and technology program for elementary and middle school students will teach participants how to build and program Lego robotics and how to compete in competitions.
Students entering the 4th through 8th grades are welcome to attend.
Classes will be taught from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Moreland Elementary. The cost for the summer camp is $125.

University of West Georgia Summer Camps
The University of West Georgia will hold several summer camps in Newnan this summer:
• Newnan American Sign Language Camp: This camp is for children ages 6 to 12 who want to learn foundational American Sign Language, which is America’s fourth most commonly used language. It will be held June 11 to 13 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the University of West Georgia Newnan at 80 Jackson St. in Newnan.
During the camp, students will learn the alphabet, numbers and other basic American Sign Language signs. They will also participate in educational, interactive and fun learning activities.
The Early Bird Registration Fee is $100 until May 11. The Regular Registration Fee is $125 until the registration deadline on June 4 at noon. Parents will need to complete a waiver form. • Newnan Build-a-Brick Engineering Camp: Students in kindergarten through 4th grade can participate in the Newnan Build-a-Brick Engineering Camp, which will include builder’s labs, challenges and games. The camp will be held June 25 to 28 from 8 a.m. to noon at the University of West Georgia Newnan at 80 Jackson St. The camp fee is $99.

Screen on the Square
Local residents can enjoy an animated, family-friendly film at the Screen on the Square event, which will be held Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. at the First Avenue Park in downtown Newnan. All ages are welcome to attend the free event. Families are encouraged to bring blankets to sit on and picnic meals.
Free Events at Coweta County Public Library Branches
Coweta County Public Library branches offer free events each month for toddlers, kids and tweens/teens, including story time, creative and educational activities, a Tween/Teen Lounge and more.
