Weather Week in Coweta: Much cooler temps, mostly dry

Much cooler temperatures have arrived in Coweta County and will remain in place through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
A strong cold front moved through the area yesterday, bringing with it the multiple tornadoes and fatalities to the south of Coweta and this burst of colder air. Highs through Wednesday will be in the mid-40s with lows in the mid-20s. Northwest winds will be gusty, generally 10-15 mph thru Tuesday with gusts as high as 25.
And wouldn’t you know it, rain chances appear again in the forecast on Friday and through the weekend. Below is the day-by-day (as of 6:30 a.m.) forecast from the NWS:
TODAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 47. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 58.
FRIDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.
