Graduation ceremony plans announced for East Coweta, Northgate and Newnan Highs

All three Coweta County high schools will hold commencement ceremonies for their 2022 graduates this week, as the Coweta County School System’s academic year comes to a close.

This week’s graduation ceremonies will be held over three days.  Due to high anticipated participation in this year’s graduation ceremonies, and to the risk of rainy weather during graduation week, all three high schools have set alternative ceremony plans in place and each high school is reminding participants to arrive early for parking at each event.

East Coweta High School Graduation

Wednesday, May 25  at Shoemake Stadium, 7 p.m.

East Coweta High School is reminding commencement participants that the campus and stadium will be open for guests at 5 p.m., and parking on campus will be limited.  Those arriving on-campus should enter from either Old Hwy. 16 or Hwy. 154. Visitors are strongly encouraged  to park off-site at Lee Middle School and Poplar Road Elementary and take the complimentary shuttle to the stadium (shuttles will begin running from these sites at 4:45 p.m.).

Northgate High School Graduation

Thursday, May 26 at Henry Seldon Field, 7:30 p.m. (inclement weather alternative of Friday, May 27, 7:30 p.m. (See here for more).

Newnan High School Graduation

Friday, May 27  at Drake Stadium, 7:30 p.m. (inclement weather alternative of Saturday, May 28, 9 a.m.  (See here for more).

Newnan High School is reminding participants at Friday’s graduation that parts of the NHS campus remain damaged from the tornado, and that the campus is currently undergoing demolition and reconstruction.  Guests are asked to not enter any area that is fenced off, as these areas are not safe.  The campus and stadium will be open for guests beginning at 4 p.m., and parking on campus will be limited.  Guests will enter at Boomer Lane from Armory Road or at the softball gate entrance.

School ends for all Coweta County students on Friday, May 27.
