From WGTC Press Release

Interstate NationaLease is helping increase program growth and training opportunities for students of West Georgia Technical College’s Diesel Equipment Technology Program with the donation of a 2016 Kenworth T3000 truck to help grow the program.

“Up to this point, most of the hands-on training in our program has been on heavy equipment and trainers,” said Trevor Key, Program Instructor for the Diesel program at West Georgia Technical College.

The truck will be housed at the Carroll campus and will allow students to gain real world experience training on a commercial truck. “With the donation from Interstate NationaLease, our students will have the opportunity to see the truck side of a diesel engine and an actual truck to consistently work on.”

Students will use the truck to learn preventative maintenance and troubleshooting as well as how to do repairs on the electrical/electronic system, engine, cooling system, hydraulics, and more.

“Having the proper equipment for WGTC students to learn and train on is a major factor in ensuring their success,” said WGTC President Dr. Julie Post. “We are deeply grateful to Mr. Williams and Interstate NationaLease for their donation and look forward to a long partnership.”

Hovis Williams, president of Interstate NationaLease said that his company is excited about partnering with WGTC, and noted that supporting the school’s growth is important.

“We see how the College is growing and what that is doing for the community, and we want to be a part of that growth,” said Williams. “It takes more than one person to make something happen, and at Interstate NationaLease we make it happen.”
