KNB set to host five recycling events in last half of 2025

The second half of 2025 features five Keep Newnan Beautiful recycling events here locally.
Local residents will have the opportunity to recycle with events such as a pair of Paper Shreddings, a Paint Recycling, Tire Amnesty, a Textile Recycling and a DEA Drug Takeback.
For starters, the third Paper Shredding Event of the year is set for Saturday, September 13 from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot behind City Hall. The physical address is 25 LaGrange Street, Newnan. The first three bags or boxes are free for Coweta County residents. After that, it’s $3 per bag or box.
Next on the calendar will be the second Paint Recyling outing of 2025. It is scheduled for Saturday, October 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. It will also be held in the parking lot behind Newnan City Hall. Fees will apply for this event. Spray Paint Cans will be $2 each, Latex Paint is $4 per gallon, Oil Paint is $5 per gallon and Deck/Wood Stain is $4 per gallon. No solvents, paint thinner/remover, epoxy, adhesives, laquers, gasoline, mercury or lead paint will be accepted.
A Tire Amnesty Day, the first since 2023, will be held on Saturday, October 18 from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at the Hunter Recreational Complex, located at 2970 Highway 16 East in Sharpsburg. This event is for Coweta County residents ONLY and a valid Coweta County Driver’s License will be required. Car and Truck Tires are free (tires MUST be OFF the rim). Passenger Tires with Rims are $10 each. Tractor Trailer Tires with Rims are $25 each. Large Equipment Tires (5 ft. or larger) are $50 each. Anyone with more than 10 tires are asked to register online at keepnewnanbeautiful.org. You can register under the event online.
On Saturday, October 25, KNB and the Newnan Police Department will co-sponsor a DEA Drug Takeback Day. It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Newnan Police Department, located at 1 Joseph Hannah Boulevard. Folks can drop off unused or expired prescription drugs to help keep them out of the environment. No syringes, liquids or aerosols (inhalers) accepted. Drop materials anonymously.
And on Saturday, November 8, KNB will host a dual Paper Shredding and Textile Recycling Event behind Newnan City Hall. It will be from 8 a.m. to Noon. Details will be available later on items that can be accepted at the Textile Recycling event.
