Paint, Used Oil and Antifreeze Recycling Event set for March 7

Keep Newnan Beautiful is kicking off its 2020 year of recycling with a Paint, Used Oil and Antifreeze Recycling event on Saturday, March 7.
Fees will apply for the various types of recycling during this event, which takes place in the Newnan City Hall parking lot located at 25 LaGrange Street in downtown Newnan. It will be from 8 a.m. to noon.
Paint Recycling is for wet paint only. Costs are $1 each for spray paint cans, $2 per gallon of latex paint, $3 per gallon of oil paint and $3 per gallon of deck/wood stain. No solvents, paint thinner/remover, epoxy, adhesives, laquers, gasoline, mercury or lead paint will be accepted.
Several items will be accepted for oil recycling, which will be managed by Universal Environmental Services of Peachtree City. Those items are used motor oil, used oil filters, antifreeze, diesel fuel and hydraulic fluids. Nothing larger than a 5-gallon bucket will be accepted. Regarding fees – the first three gallons are free and $1 per gallon after that. Items will be tested upon drop-off and must be free of contaminants to be accepted.
