Frocks and Rocks Charity Fashion Show was held at the Newnan Centre on Saturday, Aug. 17 to a sold out crowd of enthusiastic attendees. The fabulous afternoon of fashion, food, and fundraising benefited the Bloom Closet, a resource center providing clothing and necessities to foster children throughout Georgia.

This year’s special guest was the newly crowned 2019 Miss Georgia, Victoria Hill, who spoke about her passion for foster children and dazzled guests with a live musical performance. Victoria also crowned the winner of the 2019 Frocks & Rocks Fashionista modeling competition.

Mary Norman, Director of Development and Communications with Bloom says Victoria’s passion for supporting foster children runs deep. “We were greatly honored to have Victoria join us this year as both our featured speaker and entertainer. Her commitment to foster children has been an important part of her life long before entering the Miss America pageant. Victoria’s voice is a powerful one for the children on the national scene and we look forward to opportunities to partner with her in the future.”

“I was so honored to be partnering with Bloom for this year’s Frocks & Rocks,” commented Miss Hill. In my role as Miss Georgia, I am committed to doing all I can to support the precious children in foster care in our state. If we all partner together, and each play a role, we can and will Flip the Script on foster care across the state of Georgia.”

The 2019 Frocks & Rocks fundraiser was presented by Melanie D. Designs. Toyota of Newnan was the Official Car Dealership for the event. The exclusive ladies-only fashion event connects women with local boutiques while raising funds for The Bloom Closet. At The Bloom Closet, foster children from Georgia can “shop” for free clothing, shoes, toys, books, toiletries, and school supplies. In 2018, The Bloom Closet provided $700,000 worth of free clothing and necessities to 3,860 foster children from 90 Georgia counties.

Eleven retailers participated in this year’s event which included a “Take Home the Runway” live accessory auction during the 33-outfit fashion show. Boutiques including: Blue Moon, Blume Organics, Cobblestone Market, Darling Divas, Ellie Mack Boutique, Fab’rik, Finley’s, Kendra’s, Lizard Thicket, Pink Chair and Tribal Chick provided the runway fashions. The event also included games, raffles, live and silent auctions, and a modeling contest.
