From Special Reports

The Newnan Carnegie Library’s Children’s Department will be introducing a new virtual Laptime program on Zoom for babies and toddlers.

The program is for children aged 6-18 months. It will include age-appropriate books, songs, nursery rhymes, movement, and/or fingerplays. The program will run approximately 30 minutes in length.

Virtual Laptime will start on Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. and occur every Tuesday for 10 weeks. Participants can sign up through Eventbrite now thru Sept. 22.

“I believe Laptime programs give a good foundation for children to grow up loving to read. It also helps to strengthen the bond between the child and the parent. This is why I always make sure parents know that they are participants in our program, not just an audience for their child,” says Teri Anderson, children’s librarian at the Carnegie Library.
