Sports on TV: Braves, Hawks, United schedules this week

From Staff Reports
Three Atlanta professional sports teams will appear on television in the next week (April 26-May 2).
The Atlanta Braves have gotten off to a slow start on the diamond this 2021 season and are trying to earn their 4th consecutive National League East Division title. The Braves enter this week with a 9-12 record following Sunday’s disastrous doubleheader loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Despite the early-season struggles, the Braves find themselves only 2 games back of the first place New York Mets here at the end of April.
This week, the Braves continue their current homestand with a 4-game set beginning tonight with the Chicago Cubs, then travel to Dunedin, Fla., to face the Toronto Blue Jays for a 3-game series. Dunedin is where the Blue Jays are playing their home games due to COVID-19 restrictions in Canada.
The Atlanta Hawks are in their first postseason chase since 2017 and carry a 34-27 record into this week’s play. Atlanta is coming off a thrilling 111-104 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night. The Hawks are fighting for a Top 6 finish in the NBA’s Eastern Conference to avoid the end of season play-in tournament for teams which finish in 7th through 10th place. Entering the week, Atlanta is tied for 4th place in the Eastern Division with the New York Knicks.
Beginning tonight, the Hawks travel to Detroit, then continue on the road for a two-game set at Philadelphia before returning home to face Chicago this week.
Atlanta United is fresh off a 3-1 victory over Chicago Fire FC on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Major League Soccer play.
United enters the week with a MLS record of 1 win and 1 draw. On Tuesday, Atlanta steps out of MLS play and hosts the Philadelphia Union in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League. United returns to MLS play on Saturday at New England.
