The Paper: The Interview with Santa

Our sister publication – The Paper – offers a pair of interviews each month with interesting folks who live here in Coweta County or in this case, do business in the area. This interview is actually with the guy who lives a bit north of Coweta County but does visit once a year – Santa Claus.
Briefly describe yourself and what you do.
“I’m the jolly fellow who likes to deliver toys for all the boys and girls.  I live at the North Pole so that the toys can be built and ready to go by Christmas each year.”
Best piece of business advice you’ve received.
“Always give a quality toy that will endure for a lot of use.  Treat my workers well.”

If I had it to do over …
“I would not change anything.  The mistakes that I made, I learned from them and came out a better person.”
You are going on an extended solo trip. What three albums and three books would you take?
“On my long trips, I like the golden oldies, The Oak Ridge Boys, Statler Brothers, and Randy Travis.  The three books would be, The Bible, and professional magazines.”
Tell us one thing about yourself that few people know.
“I like snow ice cream.”
You are hosting a dinner party for six. What five people, living or dead, would you invite and why.
“My Mom, Dad, Mother-in-law, Father-in-law and My wife.  Because I love them very much.”
Name an as yet unfulfilled dream.
“To take a cruise.”
If you weren’t doing what you are, you would be …
“A Police Officer.”
Your go-to food.
“Mexican without a doubt.”

“Hallmarks.”

“Both.  I like having both.”
Your favorite quote and why.
“By Theodore Roosevelt: ‘Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.’ ”
Name something that you are extremely glad you did or accomplished.
“Made it to the top of my profession.”
What advice would you give your younger self just starting out on their own.
“Get all of the education that you can.  Don’t be afraid to take a chance on an idea.”
