Dance no further than Newnan

If you are looking for the perfect ballet shoes, tutus or leisure clothing then look no farther than downtown Newnan and Grit and Grace Studio to Streetwear. Serving Coweta, Fayette, Troup counties and beyond, dancers of every age have merchandise that has been meticulously chosen just for them. Grit and Grace is one of a kind boutique that will delight all and they bring the best of the best for dancers. Why, even Miss Mississippi made a special trip up to get fitted.

They have the most lovely ambiance with a lovely chandelier, beautiful tufted ottomans and a classic yet modern gray and white pallet. Best of all this boutique is filled to the brim with the best of the best of everything for the studio to street wear. It’s the kind of boutique store you will remember for years to come.

Macrame is back once again

In the Seventies, macrame was one of the hottest, and as they used to say, grooviest ways to decorate an apartment. It was even worn by both men and women. Well it is back and you can find it right here in clothes to wall hangings. And it is as cool and as hip as ever before.  As the old saying goes, everything old becomes new again. So this year as students prepare for college I am pretty sure you will see macrame on dorm walls and everywhere else Not sure you will see macrame as workplace attire unless you work in a more laid back environment but let’s hope not.

Can that text or call wait.

There are certain things in life that can’t wait, like when a baby is ready to be born, holding back a sneeze or when your four-year-old has to go to the bathroom.  It is not very easy to wait on those. But texting and talking on the phone while driving has also become something that just can’t wait. It needs to.

Our cars have become our offices, texting and driving has become commonplace and plenty of us have said, “give me a second and I will call you when I get in the car.”  We have come to believe that call or text is urgent. That it can’t wait. Yet in that split second there could be a crash and someone could be injured or even killed.

Saving lives can’t wait. As of  July 1, the Hands Free Law became law and Natalie Bacho of Newnan worked tireless to get that legislation passed. Natalie and the Abby’s Angels Foundation is carrying on the legacy of her daughter, Abby, who was killed by a distracted driver. Recently Natalie said to me,  “that we must change the culture.” I agree. We have to change the culture to focus on driving and not worrying about some text. It can wait. Lives can’t.

Boho is hot this fall

Are you looking to make your home decor more carefree and exciting? Then it might be time to add a little bit of Bohemian style to get a new look. “Bohemian” comes from the French word for “gypsy” and can go from wardrobe to home. It is a fun, free flowing and eclectic style that may are opting for this fall.

Although it embraces a sense of comfortable, loose and flowing, Bohemian style includes mixing colors and patterns, bold prints,  tassels, heavily textured pillows and macrame. If you like a more unconventional style then this look is for you. The Bohemian, or “Boho,” decorating is for those who want their homes and wardrobe full of life, culture, and interesting items, which embraces the carefree, the relaxed, and the unique.
