FRIDAY, AUGUST 9

LUNCH & LEARN: A TRIP TO THE NORTH POLE

Please join the Carnegie Library and the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation as we beat the heat with photographer and world traveler Gordon Kilgore as he shares about his “cool” journeys to the North Pole! Gordon was asked to photograph for the Russian expedition company, Poseidon Voyages, and he made two trips to the North Pole on the nuclear icebreaker, Yamal. Gordon has been a serious photographer for about 50 years, and has traveled to all of the states, all of the continents, and well over a hundred countries! Registrants are invited to bring their own lunch to the event. Doors open at 11:30 am. Program begins at noon sharp and ends at 1 p.m. To register, click HERE.

COWETA COUNTY FARMER’S MARKET

Your favorite farm families and vendors return alongside exciting new additions, all eager to meet you at the Coweta County Farmer’s Market! In addition, Coweta County UGA Extension’s Family & Consumer Science Agent will join us this season with fun cooking demos, food safety tips and children’s activities. Plus, don’t miss the chance to meet your new furry best friend, as Coweta County Animal Services will be on-site offering pet adoptions.

SENOIA FARMER’S MARKET
8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., 40 Travis Street, Senoia
Locally-sourced Farmer’s Market, every Saturday.

LAUNCH PARTY
9 a.m.-1 p.m., ChildrenConnect Museum, 30 Temple Avenue, Newnan
This family-friendly event will celebrate the ChildrenConnect Museum’s recent renovations and aims to bring the community together for a day full of engaging activities and fun. Meet Bluey! Plus raffles, bake sale, PVC Pipe Xylophone exhibit, music and more.

Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

SERENBE FARMERS MARKET
9 a.m.- 1 p.m., The Grange Green, 10640 Serenbe Lane, Chattahoochee Hills
The Serenbe Farmers Market hosts Growers, Artisans, Craft-makers, and Healthy Food Producers. Parking is available along Serenbe Lane in Grange.

BUTTERFLY FIELD TRIP

ICE CREAM SOCIAL & CRAFTS SALE

If you’re in Newnan, stop by and support the Coweta County Quilts of Valors and the local Veterans. 15 Quilts of Valor will be presented to some very deserving Veterans. It’s the 10th Anniversary of Coweta County Quilts of Valor. They will be serving Ice Cream, Cookies and also selling crafts. Donations accepted.

COWETA DUCK FEST SUMMER JEEP JAM
5-9 p.m., Ashley Park / Dillard’s Parking Lot, 370 Newnan Crossing Bypass, Newnan
This is the rescheduled event from July. Duck Duck Jeep! Ashley Park would like to invite all of you Jeep fans out to our 2nd Annual Jeep festival! Vendors, live music, food trucks, and family fun! Come on out, Coweta! We will be giving out awards for Best Presentation, Most Likely to Climb Mount Everest, Most Humorous, Best Lights, Most Ducktastic, Best Overall, etc. Open to the public. No ticket needed for spectators.

USCS Sprint Cars make their way back to Senoia Raceway in classes Mini Stock, Bomber, Modified, Charger, 602 and Sprints. Grandstands $20, Kids 12-and-under Free; Pit Admission $35, Kids 6-12 $20 and 5-and-under FREE. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., Grandstands open at 5 p.m. Hot Laps begin at 6 p.m. and Racing around 7 p.m.

PERSEID METEOR WATCH

Come out and check out the Perseid Meteor with our friend Klaus. He will have a telescope set up so that you can observe the moon. You will be able to observe the meteors with the naked eyes. Bring your camp chairs. $5 parking pass.
