FRIDAY, MAY 3
SIP N PAINT PARTY
7 p.m., Coweta Veterans Club, 130 Veterans Club Road, Newnan
Come join us at the Coweta Veterans Club in Newnan for a fun Paint Party! $38 gets you a seat, all the materials you need, step by step directions as we all paint together. SATURDAY, MAY 4
12TH ANNUAL RACE FOR THE ORPHANS
7 – 9:30 a.m., Downtown Newnan
Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate! The RACE was created in order to support families going through the adoption process (domestic and international) because it can be very expensive ($30-50,000). Starting line is on Brown Street next to The Warehouse of First Baptist Church Newnan; finish line is on W. Washington Street. Food and awards ceremony is on Madison Street in parking lot behind FBC Newnan. Registration at 7 a.m., Tot Trot (ages 5 and under) at 7:45, followed by Mia’s Mile Fun Run & Walk at 8, the 5K USATF Certified Race at 8:30 and Awards Ceremony at 9:30. WALK WITH A DOC

The spring edition of The Cotton Fair is on May 4th & 5th. It’s an arts, crafts, and antiques show located in Gay, GA. Over 300 artisans from all over the country will gather.They have wonderful items in store for you and can’t wait for you to take them home! Gates are open from 9-5 each day. We ask that you do not bring pets for the safety comfort of all our guests. Service animals ONLY. Parking is free and on a first come, first parked basis. Hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month. The Market features over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.
17TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FEMALE RIDE DAY
10 a.m., City of Hope, 600 Celebrate Life Parkway, Newnan
The Stilettos on Steel Female Riding Group – Newnan City of Homes Chapter will be holding a ride to honor the 17th annual International Female Ride Day. At this event, female motorcycle riders will have the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow female riders. You can expect a day filled with motorcycles (two and three-wheels welcome!) , music, food, and fun! Ride registration is 8 – 9:30 a.m., with safety briefing at 9:45 a.m. and KSU for the ride is 10 a.m. Breakfast will be served before the ride. Make sure to arrive with a full tank of gas! COMMUNITY SHRED FEST

HOT RODS FOR HISTORY

The Senoia Area Historical Society is excited to announce the return of Coweta’s favorite spring car show: Hot Rods for History 2024! The second annual Hot Rods for History will include over 250 collector and performance cars, trucks and motorcycles parked lakeside at Marimac Lakes (behind the Coweta Public Library) in Senoia. Once again, there will be trophies, food vendors, beer trucks and more! Come see some of the area’s best cars, trucks and motorcycles in a beautiful lakeside venue, and help raise money for the Senoia Area Historical Society. The SAHS is dedicated to collecting and sharing Senoia’s history.

SOLD OUT. Hosted by ELEVATE Coweta Students. It’s their annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser. Folks put on their best hat or that one-of-a kind bow tie and watch the Kentucky Derby with both old and new friends, enjoy food and drink, auctions and more, all set against the beautiful backdrop of the McRitchie-Hollis Museum and the University of West Georgia in historic Downtown Newnan! At approximately 7 p.m., the Derby will be shown live followed by a fun live auction, food and live music from the band Doze Guys.
