From Staff Reports

The area’s sports calendar is a busy one this week as high school football, college football and the Atlanta pro sports teams get into the action.

Locally, the spotlight will be on East Coweta at the Indians travel to Newnan on Friday for their annual showdown with the Cougars. Kickoff in Drake Stadium is set for 8 p.m. All six local prep squads will be on the gridiron Friday.

Though no local major college football team kicks off this weekend, we do have below the games set for TV with kickoff times and networks.

The Braves, United, Dream and Falcons continue play. The Braves still lead Major League Baseball with 80 wins and host the New York Mets in a three-game set beginning tonight, before heading west to face the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies.

Also below is some outdoors information for our area’s hunters, plus lake levels and sunrise/sunset times.
