Weather: Cold, breezy start to Coweta’s work week

A blustery winter day will kick off Coweta County’s work week today with a slight warming trend arriving Wednesday, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Monday’s forecast is a cold, cloudy and gusty one with a high temperature reaching only 40 degrees but with Northwest winds around 15 mph, gusting to 25. And overnight, the mercury drops to 28 with winds about the same.

Breezy winds are expected again Tuesday but with sunny skies and a high near 46. Clear overnight skies will drop the temperature to 26 on Tuesday night.

And on Wednesday, sunny skies and lower winds (Northwest at 5-10) will move the high temperature into the low 50s.

Below is the 6-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

MONDAY – Cloudy, with a high near 40. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 52. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 58.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58.

SATURDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 54.
