Weekend Guide: January 31, February 1-2

From Staff Reports
There’s plenty of fun-filled, family events taking place in and around Coweta County on this Super Bowl weekend.
Here are several of the headlining events taking place. Tonight, Relay for Life of Coweta County kicks off the cancer fighting season with Cosmic Bowling at Junction Lanes.
On Saturday, the Angels House hosts its largest fundraiser of the year with the 2020 Run For Angels & Chicken Q in downtown Newnan. Keep Newnan Beautiful hosts a Paper Shredding event behind City Hall. If a wedding is in your near future then check out The Wedding Extravaganza at Newnan Centre. Other events include a free Pruning Workshop which takes place at the UGA Extension Center on Pine Road, Peachtree City’s Library is hosting a Black Superhero Showcase and the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation hosts the Burns Celebration at the Historic Train Depot in Newnan.
And Sunday, we have several Super Bowl LIV parties listed that are occurring at the regular music venues featured here.
As always, Kris Youmans has your covered with the live, local music scene and a pair of theatrical performances are on tap this weekend too.
For more events, check our Facebook page by clicking: https://www.facebook.com/pg/wintersmedia/events/.
Weather-wise, look for rain today, then moving out on Saturday. Just a 20 percent rain chance on Saturday with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 54 degrees. Sunday is the best day of the weekend with sunny skies and a high around 60.
