2019-20 Pre-Kindergarten applications accepted through March 20

From Coweta County Schools Press Release
Coweta County School System elementary schools will continue to take applications for the 2019-20 Georgia Pre-K lottery drawing through noon on Wednesday, March 20.
Coweta elementary schools will take applications from 8a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and through 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20. Lottery drawings for spots in the limited-space classes will be held at schools at 1 p.m. on that day. Parents may attend, but do not have to be present for the drawing in order for students to be selected into the program.
To apply for Pre-K slots, parents must bring photo identification for the parent, a birth certificate for the applying child, and one form of proof of residence (including, for example, a mortgage document or a security deed, apartment, lease or rent receipt indicating the current address, a current electrical bill, property tax records or voter precinct identification card).
Parents who need to obtain a state-issued birth certificate for their child can do so at the Coweta County Probate Court office, or can call the school system for guidance.
Students who are drawn for four-year-old Pre-K classes following the application period will then be able to formally register their children for school at the school system’s Central Registration Center.
Each year the Coweta County School System provides quality age-appropriate instructional services to eligible students through limited-enrollment pre-Kindergarten classes. The program operates on a full day (6.5-hour), five day a week schedule to include instructional activities and learning experiences in the areas of language and literacy, math, art, science, social studies and creative expressions. All pre-K classes are staffed with certified teachers and assistants.
Children must be four years old by September 1 to apply for Pre-Kindergarten spots, and must apply at the school they will attend.
