Power Outage At Newnan High School Delays Opening

A power outage right before school at Newnan High School this morning had officials, students and parents scrambling on what to do.
At 7:30 a.m., Dr. Chase Puckett, NHS principal texted the following:
“Parents, we have a power outage in several buildings on campus. We are working closely with Newnan Utilities. At this time, we do not have an estimate when power will be restored. I will update you as soon as I know. It may be an hour, it may be several.
“Parents, I will keep you updated. If you choose to allow your student to remain at home today, this will not be counted against them for attendance purposes. However, if power is restored within the hour, I will also let know. We have a plan for instruction if they are here. Thanks for your support, as always. ”
