All Coweta Schools Will Delay Opening 2 Hours on Monday, March 16

Due to the current forecast of inclement weather affecting the Coweta area tomorrow morning, all Coweta County Schools will delay opening for two hours on Monday, March 16.

The school system will continue to confer with local and state authorities to monitor forecasts and actual weather conditions throughout the night and morning.  If actual conditions worsen, the school system will update parents about further delays or other changes to operations as necessary.

Current forecasts show that the Coweta area will experience a likely line of storms in front of a cold front Monday morning, with possible severe weather conditions affecting our county starting in the early morning hours.  This front carries the possibility of high winds and rain, and the possibility of tornado watch advisories.

A delay means that all normal schedules will be postponed for two hours.  Elementary schools will begin at 10;00 a.m., and middle and high school schedules will postpone until 10:15 and 10:30 a.m.  High School students should report directly to 2nd block classes upon arrival. Bus pickups should be anticipated two hours after normal pick-up times.

Parents are also urged to closely monitor conditions in their own neighborhoods, and make safe travel decisions accordingly.

In the event that schools are further delayed or closed, there are a variety of ways that the school system notifies parents, including:
