First New Chattahoochee Water Intake in 100 Years

Congressman Brian Jack (GA-03) will speak at a ribbon-cutting celebrating a historic milestone, the first new water intake on the Chattahoochee River south of Atlanta in more than 100 years. The $65 million project, including the new $27 million Chattahoochee River Raw Water Pump Station, creates a reliable new water source for the Coweta County Water & Sewerage Authority, strengthening regional water supply resiliency.
Decades of improved water quality have made the project possible, marking a major step toward building redundancy in a region that has grown more than 26% since 2010. The pump station will serve more than 30,000 customers supporting long-term growth and sustainability. State and local leaders will join to celebrate this investment in the community’s future.
