Each month, local artists are named Artist of the Month. The city has collaborated with the Newnan-Coweta Art Association and some local art galleries on this project. It gives local artists the opportunity to display their work in City Hall and a chance for the city to support the arts.
About Yvette Abrahamson
Born in Columbus, Ohio, to artist parents Jim and Lila Aldrich, Abrahamson has been a Georgia resident for 23 years. She began painting, drawing, and photography at a very young age.
Her public school, and the local parks and recreation department in her area nurtured these skills along with her parents. After a career in advertising, she became a graphic design artist like her parents before her. Today, many years later, she is spreading her wings into enjoying her much-loved hobbies and has picked up her brushes once again.
She joined the Newnan-Coweta Art Association and started painting classes on and off in 2014, and is still an active member today.
She enjoys wildlife, nature photography, oil painting, jewelry making and carving in many substances. She’s also dabbled into photography for many years as a hobby.
Abrahamson is a member of the NCAA.
