Bowie honored with Life Save Award

From Special Reports

Battalion Chief Todd Bowie of the Coweta County Fire Rescue was honored on Friday, Aug. 27 with This Life Save Award for his fast, strategic thinking to save a citizen’s life.

Over a recent weekend at a house fire, Chief Bowie was first to arrive at the scene. He conducted a great size up before performing a 360-degree walk around.

During this procedure, Chief Bowie found a citizen entrapped in the house through a small hole in the window. He grabbed a rake to safely break the window and help the citizen escape. Being a kitchen fire, this was the citizen’s only path to escape.
