The Coweta Community Foundation will celebrate its 25th anniversary this fall and has decided to mark the occasion by increasing the grant amounts in their next Traditional Grant Cycle. The Foundation awarded $31,100 in grants in 2021, giving 25 grants in the $1,000 to $2,000 range. This year, the Foundation plans to award more than $80,000 in grants, with individual grants of as much as $5,000.

“Our nonprofits have faced so many challenges over the past few years that we really wanted to step up our game and help them in even bigger ways,” said CCF Executive Director Kristin Webb. “We know that the pandemic, the tornado, and the economy have all posed significant challenges for everyone, including nonprofits, who often serve those who need help the most in our community.”

Webb said she hopes the increase in grant amounts will encourage applications from nonprofits who have never applied for a CCF grant before. And with more than 600 nonprofits in Coweta County, she knows that many groups could benefit from such a grant.

Webb also noted that this year, nonprofits can apply for grants in one of three categories for the individuals they serve: City of Newnan residents, Senoia and surrounding area residents, and Coweta County residents.

To be eligible to apply for and receive a grant, a program must:

• Have an active 501(c)3 designation or government tax status in the State of Georgia

• Hold a Charitable Organization Permit from the Secretary of State of Georgia

• Identify a need and a clear plan for utilizing funds to address that need

Grant funds must be used to support only the activities described in the grant application, and the agency agrees to provide the Foundation with a final written report on the organization’s completion of the project or program.

The grant cycle opens September 1, 2022, and runs through October 15, 2022, with awards announced in December. For more information, please visit https://www.cowetafoundation.org/traditional-grants/.
