From City of Newnan Press Release

The City of Newnan is announcing that it has been awarded a grant of $4.6 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the United States Congress.

The grant is being awarded through a Congressionally Directed Spending request submitted to Senator Raphael Warnock’s office back in 2022.

Through this program the City of Newnan intends to utilize funding to continue the work in the Chalk Level area to rehabilitate homes in need. Letters have been sent to residents of the Chalk Level neighborhood, which include a form for pre-application information.

The City of Newnan will be considering any remaining unserved applications from the 2021 CHIP Grant pre-application first. Upon completion of the existing list, the City will consider all new pre-applications on a first come, first serve basis.

Residents with questions are welcome to reach out to Special Projects Manager, Andrew Moody at 678-673-5414.
