City of Newnan hosts Summer Block Party on Saturday

Join Keep Newnan Beautiful, Main Street Newnan, Newnan Carnegie Library, City of Newnan’s Leisure Services Department, and the City of Newnan for a Summer Block Party! Downtown Newnan is the site for Saturday’s (June 5) family-event.
School will be out for the summer, and there will be a full lineup of events for you and the family to enjoy as we kick off the beginning of summer.
Saturday, June 5 Schedule
Paper Shredding
Join Keep Newnan Beautiful for an on-site paper shredding event behind Newnan City Hall. The first 5 bags/boxes are free for Coweta County residents. After the first 5 bags/boxes, it’s $3 per bag/box. Have more than 10 bags/boxes? Contact Keep Newnan Beautiful at 678-673-5505.
Market Day
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. • Downtown Newnan Square
The Market will feature over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind items. Market Day favorites include fresh, locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc. Hosted by Main Street Newnan.
Newnan Carnegie Library Party
9 a.m. – 2 p.m. • Newnan Carnegie Library • 1 Lagrange Street
Join the Newnan Carnegie Library during the hours of 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for book giveaways, a City trivia game, star weaving crafts for the kids, a recipe swap for the adults, and comic book art for the teens! There will also be an ice cream truck on-site!
City Trolley
1 – 8 p.m.
Various Stops; FREE Rides
It’s BACK! The City Trolley is back in operation and is ready to take you, the family, and your friends around the city to enjoy, explore downtown Newnan and Ashley Park just in time for summer break! Hop on and ride all weekend long with easy access to the following stops: Newnan City Hall, Dillard’s at Ashley Park (West Entrance), and Regal Cinemas at Ashley Park. Brought to you by the City of Newnan!
Family Fun Day in the Park
2 – 5 p.m. • Greenville Street Park
Bring the family out for a day of fun at the park with giant bubbles, Leggos, and music! Brought to you by the City of Newnan’s Leisure Services Department.
Movie Night at the Park
8 – 10 p.m. • Greenville Street Park
After a day of fun in the park, bring the family back for the showing of the Lego Movie and popcorn from Kettleworks Popcorn Truck (for purchase). Brought to you by the City of Newnan’s Leisure Services Department.
