Coweta Parents Can Choose Face-to-Face or Virtual Instruction for 2nd Semester, Dec. 7-11

From Coweta County Schools Press Release
Coweta School System students and parents will have an opportunity to change their student’s second semester instructional model, during an open sign-up period held December 7 through 11.
Parents will be asked at that time to consider whether their student should choose face-to-face or virtual instruction for the second semester, starting January 5.
Parents are asked to commit to the in-person or online format for their student throughout the entirety of the second semester, from January through the end of May.
Two options remain for Coweta students – virtual instruction (Empower online) or face-to-face instruction. Changes to a student’s instructional option will become effective at the start of the second semester, on January 5. Parents who do not wish to change their student’s current instructional option will not need to act.
Parents can visit each school’s website to find their school’s sign-up form. Parents can also visit the dashboard on each school’s website to see current face-to-face enrollment numbers and class sizes as they make a decision about their student’s options, and will be able to to sign up to change options through a form on each school website.
The school system continues to work with local and state authorities to monitor COVID-19 conditions in the community and in schools. The school system plans to keep all current COVID-19 mitigative measures in place in schools, per the guidance of local and state health authorities. This includes maintaining virtual options for parents, requiring face masks or coverings for employees and students in grades 2-12, social distancing where possible, health checks, and contact tracing and quarantining efforts.
