I-58 Mission To Accept Donations At Local Church

On June 13, 2020 volunteers will be at Cornerstone United Methodist Church (UMC) to receive donations to replenish the Food Pantry at I-58 Mission in Senoia.
Donors need only drive through the parking lot at Cornerstone and pop open the trunk of their vehicle. Volunteers will collect donations of food, kids’ clothes, and limited household items from the vehicle and load them in the I-58 box truck for delivery to I-58 Mission.
Popular pantry items include canned meats and fish, such as chicken, beef stew, tuna, and salmon, canned vegetables, canned beans, grape jelly, canned soups, spaghetti and meatballs in a can, juice boxes, bottled water, boxed cereals, oatmeal, boxed breakfast pastry, mac and cheese (“deluxe” style).
Hygiene items are also welcomed, including razors, cotton swabs, shampoo, body wash, paper goods, incontinence supplies, bath soaps, large tubes of toothpaste, diapers size 4, 5, and 6, and baby wipes.
Because school kids have outgrown last summer’s wardrobe, children’s summer athletic shorts/ and shirts are in great demand. In particular, boys’ size 3T, 5,10,12 and 14 boys are needed. I-58 needs size 7/8 shorts and size 2T, 4T, 5T, and 7T outfits for girls. Boys’ boxer brief sizes between 4-18 are needed; and, girls’ underwear all sizes are needed. All Teen/JR. girls and boys casual shorts and shirts are needed.
I-58 Mission is also accepting measuring cups/spoons, any electric fans, bath towels, bed pillows, mop/mop buckets, brooms, dustpans and manual can openers are sought. Donations of cash will be welcome.
The church located at 2956 Sharpsburg McCollum Road near Thomas Crossroads. Donations will be accepted between 10 a.m. and noon.
