Lewis Grizzard Games 2023 postponed until October

From Special Reports
The Moreland Cultural Arts Alliance (MCAA) has announced the postponement of the Lewis Grizzard Games 2023 set for June 22-24 due to inclement weather.
The games were to take place at the the Temple Avenue Recreation Complex in Newnan. However, weather forecasts of 70-80 percent rain chances through Friday with the possibility of flooding would make the fields unplayable for softball and other outdoor games scheduled. MCAA decided that the safety of the participants and spectators would be better served if the games were played later in the fall under much better weather conditions.
One portion of the Grizzard Games will take place on Thursday, June 22 as MCAA is offering diners at Sprayberry’s Barbeque,229 Jackson Street in Newnan, a chance to win in two drawings for gift cards.
The first chance is for anyone ordering a “Lewis Grizzard Special” on Thursday, then takes a photo of the order and posts it on the MCAA Facebook page (@morelandculturalartsalliance). The participant will be entered in a drawing for a $100 Visa Gift Card.
The second chance is for anyone ordering any other menu item from Sprayberry’s that same day and takes a picture of the order and posts it on the MCAA Facebook page. That participant will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Visa Gift Card.
Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. that evening. Participants do not have to be present to win.
Sprayberry’s BBQ was Gizzard’s favorite and according to him was “simply the best barbeque joint on earth.” Relishing Sprayberry’s is a great way to celebrate Lewis.
