Local Girl Scouts Troop, Keep Newnan Beautiful partner for Bronze Award

From Special Reports

Keep Newnan Beautiful recently played a part in a local Girl Scouts Troop earning their Bronze Award.

Girl Scouts Troop 18004 completed their work on May 16 in earning the Bronze Award, the highest honor for Junior Girl Scouts. In earning the Bronze Award, the Girl Scouts Troop completed 20 hours of community service highlighted by installing hand-made hose caddies at locations throughout Newnan in participation with Keep Newnan Beautiful.

The girls attend the 4th and 5th grades at Arbor Springs Elementary.

“I’m glad I got to build the hose caddies because it will help the community grow beautiful gardens,” said Nora Rudny, age 10. “Plus, we got to spray the hose! I really loved learning about Keep Newnan Beautiful’s Outdoor Classroom and playing there with my friends.”

“Working with Mrs. (Page) Beckwith from Keep Newnan Beautiful to complete our Girls Scout Bronze Award was so much fun,” said Brooklyn Baker, age 11.
