From the city of Newnan Press Release

The city of Newnan’s Planning and Zoning Department today announced it intentions to create a survey in order to update the Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Plan and is requesting the community’s assistance.

A survey to help gauge viewpoints about walking and biking within the Newnan community will be used to help shape general strategies for improving bicycling and pedestrian conditions. The survey will also provide input for prioritizing future bike/pedestrian projects.

“The City Council discussed the existing plan at their retreat and decided it was time for an update,” explained Tracy Dunnavant, the city of Newnan’s Planning and Zoning Director. “Hearing from our citizens is very important. We are planning for their future, so their input is vital.”

The survey seeks information regarding reasons why people choose to walk/bike, factors that discourage walking and biking, and locations where bike/pedestrian facilities need improvement.

In an effort to spread the word, the City has contacted the Friends of the LINC and local cycling clubs and will be placing signage at LINC trailheads.

The survey may be found on the City’s website: https://forms.gle/8fEgNH5MBSRH3YoZA .

The survey is open until September 8, 2024.
