One of the county’s most popular annual events will take place on Saturday – the Newnan Christmas Parade.

The 2022 version will start at 6 p.m. and feature a route through downtown Newnan with the theme – Gingerbread Christmas.

The parade will begin at the corner of Clark Street and Jackson Street and proceed down Jackson Street. It will conclude on LaGrange Street, immediately before Greenville Street Park (Salbide Ave.). Please note the parade route this year will only proceed down Jackson and will not go around the downtown square.

“The City of Newnan’s Christmas Parade is an annual holiday tradition we look forward to each year,” said Newnan Mayor Keith Brady. “It brings together our community and I always enjoy watching the creativity of our parade participants.”

Float award categories this year include Most Creative, Most Original, Best Use of Parade Theme, The Elfin Award (children participation) and People’s Choice Award (voted on via social media after the event). The Parade Judges will be senior high school students from the Newnan Youth Council .

Pre-event float staging will take place in the parking lot adjacent and behind Dunc’s BBQ (98 Jackson Street, Newnan). Walking groups will have their pre-event staging in the parking lot of the University of West Georgia Newnan campus.
