Newnan Kiwanis Club Donates More Than $180K To Local Nonprofits

The Newnan Kiwanis Club recently donated more than $180,000 to local nonprofits. The money came from proceeds raised from the club’s annual Kiwanis Coweta County Fair.
The club recently held a steak supper at the Newnan Utilities Cabin for representatives of the various charities. Checks were handed out after the dinner.
Among the groups receiving funding were: Angel’s House, Backstreet Arts, Boy Scouts, Pack 45, Boy Scouts of America Coweta District, Bridging the Gap, Brown’s Mill Battlefield Association, Christian City Children’s Village, Click Organization, Communities in Schools of Coweta County, Continental Societies Inc., Newnan Chapter, Corral, Coweta 4H. Coweta CASA, Coweta County Genealogical Society, Coweta County Special Olympics, Coweta Distinguished Young Woman, Coweta Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Coweta-Newnan Boys & Girls Club, Coweta Samaritan Clinic, Coweta STEM Institute, Family Patterns Matter, Ferst Foundation, Helping Hands Holiday Dinner, Meals on Wheels of Coweta, Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation, Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity, Newnan-Coweta Youth Associates, Patrons of the Centre, Purified Living Ministries, River Life, Rutledge Center, St Vincent de Paul, Sheriff’s Office Project SAFE, Sheriff’s Youth Homes, Stepping Stones, Summit Family YMCA, Toys for Tots, University of West Georgia, Young Life.
Including payments to other nonprofits volunteering at the fair, the Kiwanis gave out more than $212,000 this year to local charities.
