The Newnan Kiwanis announced this week that nearly 45,000 people attended the 2022 Kiwanis Coweta County Fair, which set a new attendance record for the annual event.

This year’s Kiwanis Coweta County Fair ran for 11 days – Sept. 15 through Sept. 25 – with an average daily attendance of just over 4,000.

According to Scott Cortner, Chairman of the Newnan Kiwanis Fair Committee, entertainment and new rides were the focus in 2022. And nearly perfect late Summer, early Fall weather certainly didn’t hurt.

“We made a big investment in entertainment for this year’s Fair and combined with new rides highlighted by the Ferris wheel, we think this is the best Kiwanis Coweta County Fair we have ever had,” said Cortner. “We are all grateful to the community, our partners, and sponsors for their support of this year’s Fair.”

The Kiwanis Coweta County Fair is the signature project of the Kiwanis Club of Newnan.  Newnan Kiwanis has operated the Fair for the past 73 years.

Proceeds from the Kiwanis Coweta County Fair are distributed within the local community as grants to dozens of organizations who share Kiwanis’ dedication to serving the children of the world.  Since 2000, Newnan Kiwanis has donated $4,600,000 to the charities of Coweta County from the proceeds of the Fair.

The Fair also provides other youth dedicated organizations an opportunity to earn money to help fund their charities such as the White Oak Golden K Kiwanis Club, the Coweta County Kiwanis Club, the Coweta County 4-H Club, and the Coweta County Boy Scouts.
