Mr. Personality – November
November is the month of my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, a day I look forward to counting my many blessings. However, since I have been in Newnan almost five years, I am not sure I can count that high.
The best kept secret in all of Georgia, the Courthouse Square, is the place to be at any time of the year. This month’s treasure belongs to “Garlic,” a Thai cuisine and sushi bar located at 16 North Court Square. The owner, Chai, has been open for five years. The hours are Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
It is a great place for family and date night dining. I couldn’t get enough of the coconut soup, it is so good. Garlic has something for everyone to enjoy plus a large selection of beer, wine and sake. Came see for yourself and tell Chai that Mr. Personality sent you.
The Oakhill Cemetery tour was a big success thanks to all who participated. I was there and it was truly amazing to see all that talent in one place. I want to salute Southern Arc Dance Center for an excellent job well done.
I also with to give a thumbs up to the person that was amazing as the angel statue. He truly looked like yard art, a great job and a fun performance.
October 14 was a busy day around the Square. I only wish I could have attended every event. They had Yoga in the Park at Greenville Street Park and Zombie and Superhero Day at Full Circle Toys, plus the Oakhill Cemetery tour that same afternoon.
Be sure to save the date, December 15th or 16th, as Southern Arc Dance presents The Nutcracker at the Wadsworth Auditorium. I am playing the part of the magic uncle and I just love working with all the talented children. I am truly having the time of my life and I intend to become a regular sight at Southern Arc from now on. I have been bitten by the acting bug.
Sunday night I was attempting to express in words what I feel in my heart and mind about living in this wonderful town of Newnan. In effect, I was counting my blessings and it turned into a poem of sorts. I would like to share it with you in The Paper.
Blessings From Within
I am living inside a poem spoken upon a summer breeze, surrounded by songbirds and honey bees dancing among the wildfires and blooming fruit trees, a bubbling brook in the background sings sweet music, a most beautiful sound.
A whip-poor-will cries out in the coming night as the sun sinks slowly out of sight. I hear a faint voice floating past the beaver dam, whispering, ‘be still and know that I AM.”
Bridging the Gap and Backstreet Art are both in the same building, located at 19 First Street, and both can use whatever help you care to provide during these holiday months. Please drop by and see how you can help.
Thank you and until next month,
Love
