Newnan’s Christmas Parade to take place Dec. 10

The City of Newnan will host its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 10.
The 2022 version of the Christmas Parade will start at 6 p.m.and feature a route through downtown Newnan.
“The City of Newnan’s Christmas Parade is an annual holiday tradition we look forward to each year,” said Newnan Mayor Keith Brady. “It brings together our community and I always enjoy watching the creativity of our parade participants.”
This year’s theme is Gingerbread Christmas. The float award categories include Most Creative, Most Original, Best Use of Parade Theme, The Elfin Award (children participation) and People’s Choice Award (voted on via social media after the event). The Parade Judges for the 2022 event will be senior high school students from the Newnan Youth Council .
Applications for parade participation are currently being accepted. A non-refundable entry fee of $45 must be received by November 11 to avoid a $30 late fee. Applications will not be accepted after December 5.

Pre-event float staging will take place in the parking lot adjacent and behind Dunc’s BBQ (98 Jackson Street, Newnan). Walking groups will have their pre-event staging in the parking lot of the University of West Georgia Newnan campus.
