NFD promotes Four Firefighters to Lieutenant

The City of Newnan Fire Department has announced the recent promotion of four firefighters to the rank of lieutenant.

Newly promoted lieutenants include Justin Cunningham, Clinton Gilley, Richie Hughes, and Cory Scott.

“We had many qualified firefighters apply for these four positions and I am very pleased with the four we promoted,” said Fire Chief Stephen Brown. “They collectively have over fifty years of experience in the fire service and have demonstrated a deep commitment to the safety of our community. They will lead well.”

Fire department lieutenants are assigned to a specific fire station and shift and are responsible for supervising the crew of firefighters.
