Spotlight: Deputy Sheriff Michelle Murray

This Employee Spotlight feature appeared last week on the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Instagram feed. 

Deputy Sheriff Michelle Murray is the first Black female Deputy employed by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office. 

DS Murray began her career with the Coweta County Superior Court Clerks Office in 1984 before coming to the Sheriff’s Office in 1988. She served as the Clerk of Warrants until 1999 when she became mandated as a State of Georgia Peace Officer. 

As a Deputy Sheriff, Michelle served as a Field Training Officer and served warrants. DS Murray was awarded Warrant officer of the year in 2000.
